Typescript text on the reverse of the photograph titled 'Working Man's University: the First Polytechnic' with further typescript attached reading 'The School of Motor Body Engineering is another well-attended course of the Polytechnic Craft Schools. Keith Drayton (centre) is now twenty-four years old and has just started this course. He works at motor body engineering for a big transport company and will be unable to get the promotion he wants without passing the City and Guilds of London Institute examinations. In three years at the Polytechnic he will acheive this'.
