Archival history

When Quintin Hogg died in 1903 his bible was found on his desk open at the page showing the text of an address given the day before (Mark 10v45). The book was locked in a small glass case, open at the same page, and thought to have been kept in the Council Room where most committee meetings were held. It is not clear when it came to the Archive, but pre1994. In 2001 Mary Hogg confirmed that the item could remain in the University. The volume, which had been damaged by its long period of display, was then sent for conservation.
