Commemorative coins for Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee

Threepence, Sixpence and Shilling.
The threepence coin features the 'Bun Head' - portrait of the Queen with head shown coiled in a bun which was in circulation from 1860. The shilling and the sixpence feature the new portrait which depicted the Queen as older, with a small crown on her head, known as the 'Jubilee Head'. The sixpence has been decorated with an enamelled Royal coat of arms. Boxed.

Print of a boxing match at Regent Street Polytechnic detached from the book The Queen's Empire: a pictorial and descriptive record, 1897-1899, which was published to commemorate Queen Victoria's diamond jubilee. Shows a boxing match taking place, with spectators, in the gym in the Regent Street premises. On the reverse is a printed photograph of 'The Race-course, Calcutta'.

Facsimile letter from Quintin Hogg to members inviting them to a service to commemorate Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee

Printed facsimile of handwritten letter sent by Hogg to Institute members. Letter addressed from 'Polytechnic' to 'Dear Sir', inviting the recipient to a Royal Jubilee Service to be held on Sunday 20 June 1897. The letter discusses the monarchy, republicanism, the Colonies, and the effect of the Poly's growing numbers on its spiritual life. Also mentions the Sisters Institute.
