XIV Olympiad Identity Card

Identity Card for David Ricketts, cycling competitor in the 1948 London Olympic Games. Card includes a passport-size photograph of Ricketts with signature and details his date of birth and address.

XIV Olympiad Commemorative Lapel Badge

Rectangular metal badge. Obverse: City view of London showing Big Ben and the Palace of Westminster accompanied by the legend in two lines 'XIV Olympiad London 1948' and the Olympic rings below. This badge was issued to officials and competitors in the Games for purposes of identification. Each badge had a ribbon, the colour of which distinguished to which group the wearer belonged. Athletic participants had orange ribbons [now missing]. Belonged to David Ricketts.
